ABOUT ME

I founded Aspire Events  in 2014 following a successful career in the events industry. Starting out as the Venue Operations Manager for the National Cycling Centre at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, I went on to enjoy several years in the exhibition and conference industry as an Account Manager, six years as the Major Events Manager at British Cycling and one year as a Consultant within the Major Events Team at UK Sport.

With one eye on getting the right balance between career and family life, Aspire Events was born with the vision of providing dedicated, professional and friendly consultancy services to major event partners in the UK at a price which is affordable and on a basis which is flexible.

“ I recently had the privilege of working with Sam of Aspire Events Consultancy on a project to deliver a bid to host the Netball World Cup in 2019. Sam undertook the role of Project Manager and she demonstrated a truly professional approach with high energy, total commitment and excellent project management and communication skills. She managed the project team and steering group to deliver a great bid and the project was competed on time and within budget. Sam is an exceptional Project Manager who is highly competent, goal focused and conscientious and I highly recommend her.”
Cheryl Danson OBE
Ex-Chair of England Netball
"Sam provided great support throughout the funding application process for the 2018 and 2019 World Taekwondo Grand Prix and the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships. Sam ensured that the event partners: GB Taekwondo, UK Sport, British Taekwondo, Mayor of London’s office and Manchester City Council, worked effectively together to prepare detailed business plans and budgets for each event.

Given the successful nature of the funding process, Sam was then asked to continue her role by project managing the delivery of the extremely high standard and ultimately successful multi-event bid to World Taekwondo.

Looking forward to Paris 2024, we are pleased to be working with Sam once again as we prepare our major event strategy for that Olympic cycle.
Ian Leafe, Head of Events, GB Taekwondo
